If you've never been to Yellowstone, you have missed one of the amazing natural ares of the United States. It is basically the inner cone of a gigantic volcano. There is plenty to see and experience from the geysers, hot springs, mud pots, and fumaroles to the forests, lakes, creeks, and river to the wildlife. The diversity is dramatic, with areas of breathtaking beauty to vast pools of wasteland, cleared by the hot springs.
