Machu Picchu

Machu Picchu

Machu Picchu is 8800 feet above sea level and the Incas began their agricultural research there in the 1400's. The Incas started building Machu Picchu in the 1400's and their architectural techniques were the same as those used today to protect structures from earthquakes. The stonework is amazing - especially when you consider they only had stones to work with. I have two views of this tranquil place, one vertical and one horizontal. It is worthy of two photographs!
